Saturday Night, local Boxer Santos Ortega defeats Ivan Martino by unanimous decision. At The Save Mart Center in Fresno, all three judges scored the four-round bout 40-36 in favor of Ortega. With the win Ortega remains undefeated with a processional record of 2-0; Martino’s is now 3-2.
The Super Bantamweight match was on the Ramirez versus O’Connor undercard; a televised live Top Rank event on ESPN. According to ESPN, O’Connor suffered from severe dehydration before the official weigh-in and was hospitalized. Fundora Enters Boxing Specialty Camp

The Junior Olympic Female Bantam Champ is currently in a 12-day training camp. According to TeamUSA.org, Gabriela Fundora and eight other female fighters are at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Under the leadership of Youth Head Coach Augie Sanchez, the team will enter specialized strength and conditioning sessions, cardio, and sparring matches.

Fundora Wins Championship in Charleston
June 24-30, 2018
At the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia, Coachella’s own Gabriela Fundora wins the 2018 USA Boxing National Junior Olympics Championship. Out of 8 female fighters, Fundora defeated three opponents including Vivian Gutierrez in the final championship Junior Female Interm Bantam at 119lbs.
